4×4 On and Off Road
This course concentrates on practical 4×4 driving both on and off road. It covers the different characteristics of these vehicles and explores their full potential.
Who will benefit?

- Agricultural and estate employees

- Individuals who drive a 4×4 and wish to improve their driving safety standards and understanding of the vehicle as part of their work or private motoring
Objectives of the course:
- Provide an explanation of the principles of 4×4 driving and an understanding of the mechanical components of the vehicle
- Demonstrate and develop skills both on and off road in a range of conditions
- Understanding the limitations of the vehicle
- Put those skills into practice
- Reduce the risk of being in an accident
What’s covered?
- Pre-drive checks to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy
- Familiarisation of the various vehicles functions and when they should be used
- The vehicles’ weight and manoeuvrability
- Differential lock and transmission brake
- Practical coaching session on various types of surfaces
- Demonstration drive with commentary
- Individual 4×4 driving assessment providing constructive advice and encouragement
- Discussion of learning points and key areas for development
- Debrief, assessment report and certificate
