DVLA Checks

In many companies it is quite often practice for managers to check the licenses of employees, photocopy them and file them for reference. This practice can actually be harmful to companies if those checks are not carried out correctly by trained personnel or verified by the DVLA to give you a truly accurate picture at that moment.

Duplicate licenses may hide information about the driver, points on the license may have accumulated putting the company at risk and the correct license groups should be checked to ensure the employee can legally drive the type of vehicle to which they are to be allocated.

It is recommended that such checks should be carried out every six months; MAC can take this administrative burden away and ensure that all licenses are correctly checked with the DVLA and the results placed on a spreadsheet for easy reference – we can also highlight any potential problems with regard to the results.
