Mac GB Ltd’s Fleet Trainers Course

As an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) are you aware that you can qualify to join the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Register of Fleet Driver Trainers. On successful completion of the Mac Fleet Driver Trainer Course, which has been accredited by DSA, you can apply to join the DSA Register.
The course, which is run over five days on weeks commencing 7th and 14th February 2011, will prepare you to enter a new market and provide you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to assess and instruct drivers employed in a work-related driving environment.
Course Objectives
1. To provide you with the skills required to make successful presentations
How to deliver, clear confident presentations
- How to prepare for presentations
- How to use visual aids
- How to relate to your audience
2. To provide you with theoretical knowledge required
Throughout the course your instructor will seek to improve your knowledge of:-
- The Highway Code
- The Official DSA Guide, Driving – the essential skills
- Roadcraft
- etc
3. To ensure that you can drive to a high standard
An assessment of your driving
- A demonstration drive by your trainer
- On-going development throughout the course of planning, anticipation, hazard awareness skills
4. To ensure that you can have the appropriate assessment and instructional skills
How to correctly ‘risk assess’ a driver
- How to develop an appropriate remedial plan
- How to deliver remedial training
The course, which is run over five days on weeks commencing 7th and 14th February 2011, will incorporate classroom and practical training sessions. At the conclusion there will be a ‘Theory Test’, a final ‘Assessment of Driving Ability’ and a final ‘Assessment of Instructional Ability’.
